About Us

The Desert Leadership Seminar (DLS) is held twice a year—each fall and spring—at MCAGCC, Twentynine Palms.

Our three-day program is designed to provide personal and professional growth opportunities for military spouses of active duty, reserve, retired, and Gold Star military members.

During the seminar, participants will engage with dynamic presenters covering essential topics such as effective leadership, public speaking, strategic networking, resume building, time management, and more. Whether you’re looking to sharpen your communication skills, build an impactful online presence, or develop leadership strategies, DLS equips you with the tools you need to succeed.​

We also offer lunch to all attendees and when possible, provide childcare services, with limited availability.

Modeled after the Leadership Education Seminar (LES) at Camp Pendleton, which has been empowering military spouses for over 34 years—DLS is now part of a growing network, our program has since expanded to Camp Lejeune, Okinawa, and as of Spring 2024, Iwakuni (ILS).​

Established in 2020, Desert Leadership Seminar began with a virtual seminar, and by April 2021, hosted our first in-person event. Graduating from DLS isn’t just a resume booster—it’s an opportunity to add valuable skills and insights that will serve you in future endeavors.​
